Holly Anderson Mastroianni - Owner, Havanese Expert and Lover of the Breed, Dog Behavior Specialist

Holly Anderson Mastroianni has been raising healthy, beautiful, well socialized pups since she was 19. Her first litter was a gorgeous bunch of black, yellow and chocolate Labrador Retrievers. They were a wonderful breed and she spent many years focusing on developing the finest chocolate Labs you could find. She still hears from people now who are looking to find another pup like the one they got way back then!  Holly loved the Labs but after injuring her back she knew she needed a smaller breed. She did lots of research and discovered that the Havanese were the breed for her. She’s had Cavaliers, Bichons and even Cheetoh cats while raising the Havanese puppies, but nothing compared to the wonderful personality, intelligence and temperament of the Havanese. Holly has devoted her life and the future of Royal Flush Havanese to providing deserving families and individuals with healthy, consistently loved  and well socialized Havanese puppies.

After achieving her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Science, she went on to earn a Master’s in Science Education and then School Counseling. She taught middle school in inner city schools for 10 years, coached Special Olympics bowling, track and basketball, raised over $7000 for the Leukemia Society (ran a marathon in Alaska) and helped revise the science curriculum along with having an occasional litter.

After teaching and counseling for 10 years and truly loving it, she decided to focus solely on her dogs. Holly is truly dedicated to producing the finest Havanese you will find utilizing all of her skills and always expanding quest for knowledge of the breed, genetics, the science of reproduction and the importance of appropriate socialization. Everyone at Royal Flush Havanese adores these dogs and pups and enjoys spending as much time playing and hanging out with them as possible!

Holly’s greatest satisfaction is the appreciation she receives from families who have taken home their pup/pups from Royal Flush Havanese and couldn’t be happier. Most people who apply to take home a pup from Royal Flush have been referred by a friend or family member. We think this is the greatest validation of all of our tremendous efforts!

Holly was nominated as a candidate to be The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Woman of The Year for 2013. She declined the nomination to focus on her dogs and pups and her husband who battles Lymphoma.

How Royal Flush Havanese Is Paying It Forward Through Community Involvement

In 2011, Royal Flush Havanese began a program to help our less fortunate neighbors survive these difficult times and also to help our puppy buyers save a little money on their puppies. If you donated 20 canned goods or non perishable to our food bank drive, you save $200 off the price of your puppy. At times we’ve given a greater discount on certain pups with the donation of 50 cans! Often people brought extra cans because they knew their contributions really made a difference.

In 2013, Royal Flush Havanese has launched a new discount program to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society find a cure for these cancers. If you bring a $15 donation in the form of a check made out to LLS, we will give you a $100 discount off the price of your puppy!

• In 2011, we donated more than 2000 canned goods to RICAN, the Rhode Island Center Assisting Those in Need. In 2012, Royal Flush Havanese collected canned good donations exceeding 4000 cans! WOW! The following is an excerpt from a letter I received from RICAN:“As you may know, we currently provide emergency services to over 22,000 individuals. Faced with this profound and rising need in an uncertain economy, demand has nearly doubled over the last year, RICAN stands at a crossroad. Our solid track record, reputation and unique role in the region offer signs of hope… Contributions from people like you, who wish to better the lives of another, help us to continue our work.”
• Royal Flush Havanese is also working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation who “grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.” We have promised the donation of a puppy to a child through this foundation.
•  Royal Flush Havanese also sponsors our local community’s Youth Basketball League and Girl’s Softball League.
• The Autism Spectrum Disorder  Foundation has also received financial support from us. We have several friends and relatives whose family members are affected.
•  Holly Anderson Mastroianni, owner of Royal Flush Havanese has personally raised thousands of dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of her grandmother and her husband who have both battled Lymphoma.
